Ioanna Kourbela

Ioanna Kourbela assumed the artistic direction of her family’s fashion house in 2003, continuing a longstanding tradition in Greek garment design. Expanding beyond the brand’s hallmark of handcrafted knitwear, she has developed four distinct collections. The gown presented here, originally designed in 2014 for the White Collection bridal line, was reinterpreted in 2020 for the Atelier collection Opulence. Crafted from fluid amethyst silk using the moulage technique, it features panels along the arms that can fasten either at the waist or wrists. The draped layers of the skirt draw attention to the back, creating a striking contrast between the minimalist front and the open, sculptural rear.
